Dear Girl Scouts of Orange County Members:
The hiring of the Girl Scouts of Orange County (GSOC) CEO is the most important and challenging responsibility of the board of directors, compared to all other board duties. When Nancy Nygren gave notice of her intent to retire as CEO of Girl Scouts of Orange County at the end of 2017, the board immediately began working, with great focus, on a process that the board of directors "owned" to find the best, most qualified and experienced candidate possible for the job. We believe we have achieved this purpose and aspiration.
Through a very comprehensive and competitive process, drawing from over 150 candidates nationwide, the board of directors has called Vikki Shepp to serve as the next CEO for Girl Scouts of Orange County effective January 1, 2018. Vikki earned this call and graciously accepted the position. She competed through a rigorous search process and stood above the others as the most qualified to lead the organization.
Vikki has been with Girl Scouts of Orange County for over 10 years, during which time she has held numerous leadership positions across the organization, most recently as Vice President of Mission Operations. What we see in Vikki is an experienced leader with a proven track record of success at GSOC.
