MEdia Journey Series for Cadettes

Cadettes look for the ME in media and learn how they can shape media—for themselves, their community and the world. Stories are told everywhere and in all kinds of formats – in movies by big Hollywood studios, online by bloggers and through social networks, through the clothes chosen by stylists for a fashion spread in a magazine, through the photos chosen by a newspaper editor. MEdia helps girls think about who is responsible for telling all the stories they see around them and how can use their story to help "re-make" the forms of media they see around them.

This is a required training to run a large event and completion of this training will be posted on the GSOC training records.

An essential component of a Take Action Project is that the girls take it out to the community. The final steps of the Sisterhood Award Take Action project will be completed outside the workshop series.

Planning Large Events training is for any volunteer who is running an event for their Service Unit, a group of troops (over 4) or Council-wide. A large event is broadly defined as any event organized by Girl Scouts generally for Girl Scouts. This training is also helpful for Service Unit Team members who are assisting in the coordinator of Service Unit events. This is a required training to run a large event and completion of this training will be posted on the GSOC training records.

Mission Sisterhood Journey Series for Seniors (Session 4 of 4)

When it comes to sisterhood, what girls start can spiral outward and change the world. Through Mission Sisterhood girls see the stories of sisterhood all around them and grow as leaders by widening their networks and broadening their world. Girls will work towards the Sisterhood Award as they gain an understanding of sisterhood in their own lives and in the world. Completing a Senior Journey is a prerequisite for the Gold Award. An essential component of a Take Action Project is that the girls take it out to the community. The final steps of the Sisterhood Award Take Action project will be completed outside the workshop series.
