Be a Girl Scout Champion

Every girl has the potential to change the world. All she needs is a safe space to discover her passions. That safe space is Girl Scouts. Girl Scouts is a place where girls take center stage, learn self-empowerment, and take action to change the world. More girls need Girl Scouts. So this year we are asking all our volunteers to Be a Girl Scout Champion and make it possible for more girls to join Girl Scouts and discover their potential.

Get involved, here's how:

Host a table at a Back to School Night

Help introduce families to Girl Scouts and show the impact the Girl Scout program has on your girls and the community at a Back to School Night! As a Girl Scout Champion, we'll give you all the resources* you'll need to promote the importance of Girl Scouts at Back to School Night.

You'll receive an additional thank you gift when you return the Back to School Night sign-up sheet to GSOC within 24 hours of your event (so we can follow-up and get the girls placed in a troop!).

*The recruitment resources you'll receive for hosting a table at a Back to School Night (BTSN) include:

  1. Girl Scout tote bag
  2. GSOC clipboard
  3. Paperweight craft kit
  4. Girl Scout branded pens
  5. Girl Scout tablecloth (for you to keep!)
  6. GSOC Camp Scherman notepad
  7. GSOC branded clip
  8. Join flyers

Gifts will be distributed upon receipt of the Back to School Night sign-up sheet.

Help form a NEW troop

We can't start a new troop without two troop leaders and you can help! Refer two friends to become troop leaders of a NEW troop and we'll send you a thank you gift card for your referral.

When a troop forms from your referral, we'll send you an additional special thank you gift!

Get your Girl Scouts involved

20 troops will win a whale watching trip for helping more girls become Girl Scouts! Your troop will get an entry into the drawing for each time they champion Girl Scouts.

Ways your troop can champion Girl Scouts:

  1. Organizing a Girl Scout Spirit Day
  2. Leading a flag ceremony at school or at a community event in OC
  3. Asking friends to join their Girl Scout troop
  4. Inviting friends to a GSOC Bring a Friend event
  5. Making a video with your troop about Girl Scouts and sharing it with your school
  6. Sharing the troop's Girl Scout story with the school during morning announcements or the school assembly

Each time your troop champions Girl Scouts, let us know by completing this form. Remember, each activity completed by your troop earns you another entry into the drawing!

Winners of the Whale Watching trip will be notified by December 12, 2018.
